Room Makeover!

I am currently working on my daughter's room, and what a chore that is! Like a lot of parents I have a dream of her room that perhaps is more of what my I would have loved to have had; had I creative artsy parents (which I don't!) While I am not planning on spending a million dollars like some parents making some elaborate one of a kind room I have come up with lots of little things that certainly make the room different and unique but on a dime that people would not even (apparently) think of.

My first thought was theme. Do I do a color theme, character/tv show theme? What happens if she decides to dislike it a month later? Thankfully at the moment (though hopefully not for much longer) we are in an apartment so as much as I'd love to do a mural I'm stuck with what color there is and can't go into constructing anything too crazy which I'm pretty sure makes my fiance happy. He doesn't have to come home (yet) to all my daughter's stuff out in the hall while I stand painting some elaborate mural.

Two of the biggest themes/trends I notice for girls are disney and princess. My daughter is not a girly girl, however she has (finally much to my delight!) got into disney. Mickey and his gang, princesses, disney movies that I have been dying to have an excuse to watch again and not look crazy. I've come up with some easy to make, or buy if your interested ;O) ideas that are neither time consuming nor expensive but will add that crafty touch you might crave for your child's room, or maybe just a room you have disney themed.

Above are the pictures of her room, stay tuned the next post will have the after pictures!
